WHAT IS AN EXPERT WITNESS?

An expert witness is a person whose opinion by virtue of education, training, certification, skills or experience, is accepted by the judge as an expert. In conclusion, the judge may consider the witness’s specialized (scientific, technical or other) opinion about evidence or facts. To clarify, they will express the expert opinion before the court within the expert’s area of expertise, referred to as an “expert opinion”.

ROLE OF AN EXPERT WITNESS

The court system calls expert witnesses to serve as an objective party to the lawsuit. Therefore they never function as an advocate for one side or the other. Expert witnesses are present in litigation to explain complicated scientific issues. As a result, they aren’t to influence the jury or judge with fervor. The main responsibilities of expert witnesses are to evaluate potential problems, defects, deficiencies. Similarly, they evaluate errors only when able to fully appreciate a process or system.

FOOT CARE

Ulcers, which are open sores in the skin, occur when the outer layers of the skin are injured and the deeper tissues become exposed. Pressure Ulcers have many causes, for exeample: excess pressure due to ill-fitting shoes, long periods in bed or after an injury that breaks the skin, ect. Ulcers are commonly seen in patients living with diabetes, neuropathy or vascular disease. Open wounds can put patients at increased risk of developing an infection in the skin and bone.
